Along the Trail
Along the Trail is the second in my series of paintings inspired by the mudflats and natural beauty of Saint John, New Brunswick. When the tide is out, it exposes the red sediment shoals and flats of sticky red mud that slowly disappear again as the tide returns.
The painting was also inspired by photographs taken during a hike on an unusually warm November day. It captures something I continue to find remarkable about this landscape – how dramatically it changes with the tide, yet remains unmistakably beautiful.
