Lepreau was inspired by a beautiful day along the coast of New Brunswick. From the ocean’s edge, sunlight broke through just before a heavy fog rolled in, while the grey and white clouds moved against a vivid blue sky and the shimmering water reflected an extraordinary range of colour.

Two islands appear to float quietly in the distance. It was one of those landscapes that seemed to change from moment to moment – bright and expansive one minute, then softened by fog the next.

That time in Lepreau, shared with dear friends, offered a place for reflection, peace and healing. This painting grew from that experience and from the beauty and stillness I found there.
