The Trail’s Edge
I have been going to Saint John, New Brunswick for more than 30 years. Krista, in her one-woman show, Fractals, described her hometown as a “foggy, rusty, seaside city,” and there’s some truth to that – but there is also natural beauty here that is difficult to describe until you experience it.
The Bay of Fundy is home to the highest tides in the world. Watching that enormous volume of water retreat and reveal the ocean floor beneath is extraordinary – and then, just hours later, watching the landscape disappear again as the tide returns.
The Trail’s Edge, inspired by one of our hikes along the Bay of Fundy, is my ode to those tides and to the landscape they continually transform.
