Inspired by the fleeting moment when fall begins to give way to winter, Transition captures two seasons meeting. The warmth and colour of fallen leaves gradually surrender to the quiet whites of winter, while the bare trees stand between them.
Created during an early period in my development as an artist, this painting also represents transition in my own work. Geometric shapes had already become part of my visual language, but I was still exploring where they could take me and how they might live alongside more organic forms.
Transition is the second–and last–painting I’ve created that isn’t entirely made of geometric shapes.
